AGM- The normal AGM stuff but importantly Malcolm Kerridge was the retiring  Chairman and Richard Keeble was formally elected as the new Chairman and Eric Burton as Vice Chairman, John Hards was elected as the Secretary replacing the retiring Paul Firth. Both Malcolm and Paul have put in many years of unstinting service, as ever with clubs of any kind, it is a few who put in most of the work. Tim Elliott was formally elected to the new position of Media Officer, a post he has carried out as a co-opted member since the last AGM. That was more or less it, a healthy club with 50+ choristers (almost sounds professional) plus our Musical Director, Graham Burrell, and Gwyn Law, our accompanist, the best club in town!

Concert- 3rd November, the first of the season at Spilsby Methodist:

  • ·         Awful weather, but cheerful, friendly & appreciative audience.
  • ·         The Choir gave debut presentations of three new pieces this evening from the show, “Les Miserables”, which included rousing solo performances by Richard Keeble, John Kennedy & Allan Dunning.
  • ·         This evening also saw the first outing at a full Choir concert of the newly formed octect, “Octangle”. They sang some old favourites & some new pieces, which included the lovely ballad “Juanita” and then “If Ye Love Me” written by the sixteenth century composer Thomas Tallis. After the concert, the Choir really appreciated the splendid array of refreshments provided by the church organisers, so we all went home feeling fulfilled in more
    ways than one.
