David Bryant – Memorial service, St. James’, Louth 07/01/2025
It was a very cold day for the service but we were warmed up by the eulogies. Someone remarked to me after the service that it was a pity you couldn’t have the eulogies before people die as you find out a lot of things you didn’t know, about that person.
LMVC was a major feature in David’s life, as a founding member in 1973. This was apparent as Brian Wood, a friend, and who also joined in 1973, gave a reading – Ecclesiastes 3, v 1-8. Alan John, another friend and LMVC member, gave a eulogy. His daughter, Jane Laydon, gave one on behalf of the family. Gill Parker sang a beautiful rendition God Be In My Head. We, LMVC, started the service with Gwahoddiad under the tower, and we finished the service with Morte Christe. His step-daughter Collie told me she had managed to keep-it-together until then, but then…
It was a bitter sweet service and David will be sadly missed.
